The birth of ideas
Panch is the founding director of ASU’s School of Computing and Informatics and was instrumental in establishing the university’s Biomedical Informatics Department. He served as the chair of the Computer Science and Engineering Department and founded the Center for Cognitive Ubiquitous Computing (CUbiC). CUbiC’s flagship project iCARE, for individuals who are blind and visually impaired, won the Governor’s Innovator of the Year-Academia Award in November 2004.
Panch’s humanistic commitment to public service, professional achievement and innovative world change make him an ideal instrument of change. His groundbreaking research and work has been documented and shared in nearly 460 high-level premier journals and conferences, and his achievements are further evidenced by the granting of several patents and copyrights.
